We are seeking experienced, reliable, and compassionate Care Assistants for an immediate 2-week block booking covering night shifts at a local residential care home. You will ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of residents throughout the night, providing high-quality, person-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Personal Care: Assist residents with evening routines, settling into bed, waking routines, and personal hygiene/toileting needs during the night.
  • Mobility Support: Assist residents with limited mobility using appropriate equipment (hoists, slide sheets) in line with moving and handling training.
  • Repositioning: Perform scheduled turns and pressure area care for high-risk residents to prevent pressure sores.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate, clear, and real-time digital or paper logs of all checks, fluid intake, turning charts, and any incidents.
  • Emergency Response: Respond swiftly and calmly to resident call bells, emergencies, or sudden changes in health, following the home's safety protocols.
  • Domestics: Carry out light cleaning, laundry, or prep duties as assigned by the night nurse/senior on duty.

Requirements (Essential)

  • Experience: Minimum of 6 months of paid experience working in a UK care home setting.
  • Compliance: Active Enhanced DBS check (preferably on the Update Service) to allow immediate deployment.
  • Training: Up-to-date Mandatory Training certificates (including Safeguarding, Moving & Handling, Infection Control).
  • Reliability: High level of punctuality and commitment to fulfilling the entire 2-week block block booking.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written English for handover and reporting.
